About this sketch
This comedy sketch is about the day bail was invented and this guy was released. The first person to ever post bail — a dark comedy sketch about the very first time the bail system was tested. A hardened detective sits across from a man covered in blood. The case seems airtight. Prison feels inevitable. But there’s just one problem — a brand new program called “bail.”
On day one, no one has thought through the loopholes.
This interrogation room sketch explores how posting bail works when the justice system relies entirely on trust, contracts, and the assumption that no one would lie. A calm, confident detective believes the system is foolproof. The accused murderer can’t believe it might actually work.
